Butterfly Kisses and Tasty Dishes

Butterfly Kisses and Tasty Dishes
Stories from a Carolina girl living in South Texas who loves the Lord, her hot hubby, her adorable son, baking, cute shoes, and Vera Bradley. On any given day in these ramblings from my heart you will find recipes for yummy goodies that will satisfy your tummy. Or you may be given a glimpse into the often hard lessons that the Lord is teaching me as my heart heals and grows in His presence. You may also find stories about my heart’s loves which almost always include family, friends, a great sale at Target, or a satisfying cup of hot tea! So, put your apron on as we experiment with “Tasty Dishes”, and join me on this journey of life filled with God’s Butterfly Kisses!

My prayer for you...
That you will “Taste and See that the Lord is Good!” (Psalm 34:8), and that God will “show you the way of life, granting you the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever" (Psalm 16:11)!

Simplicity in Blogging and Baking

The title of my first Blog Entry includes the word "Simplicity"-such a beautiful word that masks over the reality :-). The reality being that I am computer-challenged and have absolutely no idea how to write a blog. Thanks to a dear friend, I now have a beautiful blog that I hope to be able to actually post on. So, if you are reading this, please pause to rejoice! I did it! I actually posted a blog entry :-)! In the previous paragraph, I shared with you my passions and hopes for this blog in simple terms as will be the tone of most of my blogging-simple and sweet, because I have not the slightest idea how to make it complicated, professional, or pretty :-). That being said, I thought I would share with you one of the simplest yet must temptingly tasty recipes I have-Scrumptious Strawberry Bread. Things just taste better when you attach the word "Scrumptious" to the beginning of the description, don't you think?

Strawberry BreadIf you love berries as much as I do, then this is a slice of heaven.

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 ¼ cup oil
2 (10 oz) packages frozen strawberries (thawed in juice)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Make a hole in the center and add the beaten eggs and oil. Add the strawberries. Pour into 2 greased 9x5x3 inch pans and bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes.
